The Scholtens came for the first time to Montezuma over a decade ago. They fell in love with its amazing nature and bohemian look and life style. In 2010, they decided to grow some roots and bought this gorgeous property at the beach.
Since then, they have been improving, giving it a different and unique touch. They have done some remodeling to make it more comfortable but always respecting the surrounding nature. In the property there are trees that are hundreds years old, various tropical wild flowers, a fish pound.
The houses are built mostly out of exotic local wood, bamboo; the decoration details are unique pieces of tropical and recycled materials from shells, bamboo, wood, roots.
The Scholtens and Ximena, the property manager, are very detail oriented and have been working through the years to provide their guests the best possible experience in the Firefly Beach Houses.
The Scholtens and Ximena are very respectful towards the nature. They keep running and managing the place in the most eco-friendly possible way to help protect the ecosystem.
